Perfect destinations for this Spring
Zurich, Switzerland
There are many ways to enjoy the city of Zurich. In addition to taking in the traditional outings, like having a coffee in the old town while window shopping on Bahnhofstrasse – travellers can enjoy a unique meal at the Dolder Grand this spring. The acclaimed five-star hotel, which dominates the entire city from a hill, offers special menus during the spring period. Excursions to the nearby region around Lake Zurich are also highly recommended, with the Rappitrail, the guided tour of Rapperswil turns into a treasure hunt. You can also admire exotic animals up close at the children’s zoo, and while at the Bächlihof farm in Jona, you can pet goats in an orchard or raid a hay bale fortress.
Norcia, Italy
In Umbria, lose yourself for a couple of days in Norcia, a small and charming town with at least two solid reasons to visit. The first of these is almost sacred: it is here that St. Benedict and his sister Scholastica were born. The second reason is more earthy and delicious: Norcia is the capital of the black truffle, and it is possible to book a walk to go hunting with sniffing dogs – the search for truffles takes place on the hills around the city, with a wonderful view of the Val Norcia. It is also worth staying at one of the charming farms in the area to really get immersed in the culture.
Valencia, Spain
Valencia’s number of parks and gardens allow both locals and visitors to enjoy the Spring season to the max with all the colors that come with nature in bloom. Valencia, with its mild temperatures, is the perfect place to take part in various outdoor activities, like walking, skating or sports. Visitors can also enjoy the city’s monuments, museums and the traditional festivals of small villages within walking distance of Valencia. During the spring months, traditional festivals, such as Las Cruces de Mayo and Feria de Abril are celebrated in Valencia and are simply unmissable!
Noordoostpolder, the Netherlands
The Netherlands, a country of natural canals and fertile farms, of great tradition and culture, offers numerous events during the spring period, an invitation to spend a holiday amidst an explosion of colourful tulips, and discover charming natural wonders. Be sure to attend the festival dedicated to the tulip in the great polder called Noordoostpolder. This soil was in fact found to be particularly suitable for the cultivation of tulips. During the tulip festival, you will see more than 2,000 varieties of tulips that bloom every spring in the Noordoostpolder. The van Stavoren Tuliproute is a trail that stretches for 106 kilometers along the Tulips, and can be traveled via bicycle, car, bus or even carriage.
